Uwe Rathjen (born June 28, 1943 in Kiel ; † November 14, 2019 ) was a German handball player .

Career

Uwe Rathjen played for MTV Itzehoe until 1968, then he moved to the Bundesliga club Frisch Auf Göppingen , where he played until 1973. During this time, the 1.81-meter-tall goalkeeper played around 250 games for Frisch Auf and was German champion in 1970 and 1972 .

Rathjen was part of the squad of the German national team with which he took part in the 1970 World Cup and the 1972 Summer Olympics.
