Urška Rabič (born March 20, 1985 in Mojstrana ) is a former Slovenian ski racer . Her strongest disciplines were the downhill and the super-G as well as the super combination . The six-time Slovenian champion started in the World Cup from 2004 to 2008 and was three times among the fastest 20. From 2005 to 2007 she also took part in World Championships and the Olympic Games , where she was also among the top 20 in three competitions.

Career

For the first time internationally, Rabič drew attention to himself in 1998 with the victory in the giant slalom of the Whistler Cup . From the 2000/2001 season she took part in FIS races , and two years later she achieved her first victories. From 2002 to 2005 Rabič took part in the Junior World Championships. However, she only saw the finish line three times in her nine starts: after finishing 19th in the 2003 downhill , she achieved seventh place in the downhill in 2004 and sixth in the Super-G in 2005 . In 2003 Rabič became Slovenian champion in downhill, super-G and combined. Over the next three years she won another three national titles.

From February 2003 Rabič also started in the European Cup . There she was placed in the top ten several times from the start. In December 2004 she made her World Cup debut in Lake Louise . Placement in the points, i.e. among the top 30, initially remained the exception. This changed in the 2006/2007 season when she was able to score more points and achieved her best World Cup results with 12th place in the Super Combined in Tarvis on March 2nd and 18th in the Super Combined on the Reiteralm on December 15th. Her best result in the Super-G was 20th place in Tarvisio on March 4th and in Downhill she was 24th in Lake Louise on December 2nd.

From 2005 Rabič also took part in World Championships and Olympic Games. At the 2005 World Championships in Santa Caterina , she was 24th in the downhill and 32nd in the Super-G. In the team competition she took ninth and last place with the Slovenian team. Her only result at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin was 18th place in the Super-G. In the downhill and the combination she was eliminated. At the 2007 World Championships in Åre , she finished 20th in the Super Combined, 23rd in the Downhill and 24th in the Super-G.

In the 2007/2008 season Rabič's results deteriorated significantly compared to the previous year and she could no longer score in the World Cup. Due to a lack of support from the Slovenian Ski Association, she ended her career in 2008.
