Ursula Jeitziner

Ursula Spielmann-Jeitziner (born March 14, 1972 as Ursula Jeitziner ) is a Swiss long-distance runner .

Career

In 1995 and 1996 she became Swiss champion over 5000 meters . Over the same distance she started at the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 , but was eliminated in the preliminary run.

She had her greatest successes on the half marathon route . Here she set a Swiss record with 1:11:19 h when she won the Berlin half marathon in 1996 , which she improved to the current mark of 1:10:34 h in Breda that same year . At the 1998 Half Marathon World Championships , she came 66th, and in 2002 she became the Swiss champion over this distance.

On the marathon route she was overshadowed by Franziska Rochat-Moser , although she also celebrated success here with a second place in the Lisbon Marathon (1995) and the Frankfurt Marathon (1996). She ran her best time of 2:32:35 h in fifth at the 1997 Paris Marathon .

In 1992 she won the Greifensee run , in 1992 and 1996 the Kerzerslauf , in 2001 the Ticino marathon and in 2003 the marathon around Lake Biel with the current course record of 2:48:07 h, with her husband winning the men's category in the same run .

She is currently starting for the All Blacks Thun association, for which she and her husband Stefan Spielmann are the main coach. Her younger sister Evelyne is looked after by her and has also had some success in long-distance running.
