Ursula Kosser (* 1958 in Bonn ) is a German journalist and book author.

Life

After graduating from high school, she attended the journalism school in Cologne . From 1978 to 1982 she studied history and Protestant theology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . She then worked as a freelancer for the Bonner General-Anzeiger , followed by a traineeship . From 1985 to 1988 she worked as an editor for local television "Videobonn", later DFA, an agency for private television and radio stations. From 1988 to 1991 she was editor and live reporter in the Bonn capital city office " RTL aktuell ", from 1991 to 2000 editor in the Bonn capital city Spiegel office . From 1995 to 2002 she moderated a. a. the live broadcast "Funkhaus Wallrafplatz". Ursula Kosser has been the head of service for RTL and n-tv in the Munich regional studio since 2001 . In 2010 she and her husband, the former Spiegel journalist Heiko Martens, wrote their first book Put the last roses on the table: Erna und Lili - two women's lives in the 20th century about one of their grandmothers. In 2012 she published the book "Hammelsprünge - Sex and Power in German Politics". In it, she describes the problems of young women in professional life based on her experience in political Bonn in the 1990s - a topic that played a major role in the sexism debate in 2013. In 2014 her book "Without Us - Generation Y's Rejection of Performance Thinking" came on the market. In 2017, she published a book about the world of the diaries of not famous people and found that even in an era of social media, many people still entrust their thoughts to the little book under their pillow.

Always a part-time yoga enthusiast and teacher, she examined the booming yoga market in 2019 and wrote a book about it. The “yoga hype” tells about the meaning and purpose of beer or goat yoga and demands “come back on the mat”.
