Uschok ( Ukrainian and Russian Ужок , Slovak Užok , Hungarian Uzsok ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Zakarpattia Oblast with about 770 inhabitants.
Ushok is located in the Forest Carpathians at an altitude of 567 m below the Uschok Pass , an important mountain pass near the border between Poland and Ukraine and near the source of the Ush , from which the village owes its name.
The village has an area of 22,769 km² and is the only village in the district council of the same name in the northeast of Velykyj Bereznyj district .
The national trunk road N 13 runs through the village, leading southwest to the center of the Uzhhorod oblast and northeast over the Ushok pass to Sjanky and on to Lviv . The Lviv – Sambir – Chop railway runs north of the village .
The church building of the Greek Orthodox Church of Archangel Michael ⊙ is located in the village, first mentioned in writing in 1582 . It is one of the wooden churches of the Carpathian region in Poland and Ukraine , which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013 .
