Uwe Eikemeier was born in the middle of the Second World War as the son of Helmut Eikemeier, who founded the cardboard factory named after him with three employees in the post-war period in 1949, which moved from Hanover , the Döhren district , to the Langenhagen district of Godshorn after a good quarter of a century in 1976 The company relocated to Bayernstrasse there as the first company in the then newly designated industrial park.

In 1965, the then sports shooter met his wife in the local shooting society, whom he married two years later. After the wedding in the registry office "in the red brick house right behind the building of today's music school on Bothfelder Straße" in 1967, the couple drove to the church in a vehicle for the wedding ceremony.

In imitation of his father in the family business Uwe invested Eike Meier after the turn of the peaceful revolution in East Germany from 1990 also seven-figure sums in the five new federal states, including in previously state-owned enterprises (VEB) in Lucka , Brandenburg , Gittersee , Rathenow and Treuen , which in 2017 - in addition to the headquarters in Langenhagen, also had a plant in Poland - employed a total of around 450 people.

In 2000, Uwe Eikemeier was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his commitment . During a visit to the town of Lucka in Thuringia , the then Prime Minister of the State Bernhard Vogel paid tribute to the Langenhagen entrepreneur who, in the first decade after the takeover of VEB, “achieved more than others in 50 years”. Eikemeier's services there also include the “Lucksche for Lucksche” social fund set up for the company's anniversary , whose share capital, initially DM 25,000, was raised by Eikemeier's business partners with donations for the company's anniversary and through which people in need in Lucka could benefit.

Eikemeier, for whom the family was the top priority, also supported schools and clubs, for example. He was a great patron of the Langenhagener shooting community, initiated and sponsored the "Haxenabend" for many years and has been bringing young musicians from Thuringia to Langenhagen since the early 1990s. In addition to promoting apprenticeships , he made a special commitment to his employees. In addition, the entrepreneur invited several " business meetings " and took care of the promotion of the local economy in various networks .

For his life's work, Uwe Eikemeier was honored with the Grand Prize for Medium-Sized Enterprises. The entrepreneur, who together with his wife expanded his circle of friends on golf courses for decades and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in March 2017 , died at the end of the same year "after a long and serious illness at the age of 74". His two children, daughter Cornelia Eikemeier and son Christian Eikemeier, who had been in the management of the family business for years, have announced that the Eikemeier companies will continue to operate.
