Uwe Lindau
Uwe Lindau (* 1950 in Groß-Barnitz ) is a visual artist who lives and works in Karlsruhe .
Life
Lindau completed his Abitur at the Kant-Gymnasium Karlsruhe . Between 1970 and 1973 he studied law in Heidelberg and then from 1974 to 1979 painting at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe with Markus Lüpertz .
Act
With his expressive figurative painting, Uwe Lindau is in the process of developing the " New Figuration ", which since the 1960s had a major influence on the development of painting in Germany as a result of HAP Grieshaber and artists such as Heinz Schanz and Horst Antes in Karlsruhe.
Together with Axel Heil , painter and since 2002 professor at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, he founded the artists' association "Combinazione Arrabbiatica" in 1989. Together they paint so-called "duo pictures".
