Uwe Staib

Uwe Staib (born January 22, 1964 ) is a former German soccer player who now works as a coach.

Athletic career

Staib started playing football at SV Todtnau before joining SC Freiburg . He made his debut for the club at the end of the 1988/89 season in the 2nd Bundesliga , and after his debut on April 22, 1989 on the occasion of the 4-0 home win over SpVgg Bayreuth, he played two other league appearances.

In the summer of 1989 Staib moved to the promoted FV Lörrach in the Association League South Baden , with which he ended the season in seventh place in the table. Then he moved on within the championship to Freiburg FC , with whom he was promoted to the third-class Oberliga Baden-Württemberg at the end of his first year under coach Uwe Ehret and with a 2-1 final win over VfB Gaggenau , where he was in the middle of the 2 Martin Krieg came on half time and won the Südbadischer Pokal . At the side of Christian Streich , Frank Wormuth , Stefan Majewski, Joachim Klemenz and Klemens Hartenbach , he took fourth place in the table with the promoted team in the 1991/92 season and repeated the national cup win against SV Linx on penalties . Between 1985 and 1988 Staib completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and then worked full-time for a compounding specialist until 2008 . At the same time, he worked as a youth coach at SC Freiburg from 2000. In 2009 he moved up together with U-17 head coach Marcus Sorg as the coaching team of the club's regional league team. From 2011 he assisted Xaver Zembrod in the same position .

Staib studied at the Swiss Federal University for Sport Magglingen .
