Gert & Uwe Tobias
The twin brothers Gert & Uwe Tobias (* 1973 in Brașov (German: Kronstadt), Romania ) are German contemporary artists.
Life
The Tobias brothers studied from 1998 to 2002 at the Braunschweig University of Art . Already during their studies they showed their works in various exhibitions.
Since 2010 the artists are mainly represented by the Berlin gallery Contemporary Fine Arts (Nicole Hackert & Bruno Brunnet).
The twin artist couple lives and works in Cologne .

The work of the duo mainly comprises large-format, very color-intensive woodcuts and so-called typewriter drawings, i.e. images composed of letters written on a typewriter . Motifs from the artist's country of birth are repeatedly taken up, folklore and folk art are also the focus of many works.
