The V. Fraas GmbH is a textile company based in Wüstenselbitz in Helmbrechts (administration, sales and production) in Upper Franconia worldwide and 25 sales locations. The company describes itself as the world market leader in the field of scarves and textile accessories .

The medium-sized, family-run company has existed since 1880. The textile company's portfolio includes scarves and shawls, hats, gloves, capes and ponchos - woven , rustled , knitted and printed. In 1997, V. Fraas took over the Jammers & Leufgen company in Willich-Anrath near Krefeld. Today, Jammers & Leufgen develops and markets its own brand FRAAS - The Scarf Company . Since 2008 V. Fraas has been operating another business area that deals with textile solutions for technical use.

The company operates a knitting mill in China, also produces in Wüstenselbitz and Helmbrechts as well as in the Czech Republic and has partial production in the USA. There are four stores and 300 shops in Germany, plus a shop in St. Petersburg and 80 shops in China.

In 1880 Valentin Fraas founded V. Fraas GmbH and began producing scarves, headscarves, shoulder scarves and plaids. In 1894 Valentin's son, Christian Fraas, took over the management. At the turn of the century, the company had around 100 employees. Arthur Fraas, Christian's son, continued the company's expansion in the 1950s and 1960s and built the first factory building in Wüstenselbitz.

In 1980 Arthur Fraas' son-in-law, Robert Schmidt, took over the management of the company, which he still runs today with his sons Alexander and Andreas Schmidt. In the course of the 20th century, the company expanded, founded branches around the world, including in New York, Toronto, London and Hong Kong, and developed into an international producer and supplier of textile accessories. In 1985 V. Fraas introduced the acrylic scarf Cashmink based on the softness of cashmere .

In the 1990s V. Fraas conquered the important Eastern European market with branches in the Czech Republic and Poland and expanded with branches in Japan, Korea and Russia. In 1997, the family company took over Jammers & Leufgen, thereby expanding its product portfolio to include silk scarves and scarves. Jammers & Leufgen is a 100% subsidiary of V. Fraas GmbH and is now responsible for the FRAAS - The Scarf Company own brand, which was launched in 2006 with the opening of five branches in the German market. Since 2000 V. Fraas has established itself with around 70 own shops and its own knitting production site in China. In 2008, the new business field Solutions in Textile was launched for the development of technical textiles and a new production site was set up in Hof / Saale in Upper Franconia. Since 2012, V. Fraas Solutions in Textile GmbH has been operating as an independent subsidiary of V. Fraas GmbH.
