The VR-Bank Nord eG Rhon based in Hünfeld is a regionally operating bank in the legal form of a registered cooperative .

history

Led by the businessman Franz Carl Aha and the master locksmith and city councilor Robert Vogt, the first cooperative association in the region and the third cooperative ever in Kurhessen was formed on January 30, 1862 . 120 citizens attended. Aha and Vogt had previously issued an appeal to their fellow citizens in Hünfeld and the surrounding area for the purpose of founding an institute for self-administration to remedy the economic problems by means of credit : donors and borrowers should take their own fate into their own hands. Shortly afterwards, several hundred original signatures from tradespeople, farmers and other Hünfeld citizens were found in the founding files. Since there was no cooperative law when the advance payment association in Hünfeld was founded, it initially operated as a legal private company . A legal basis was only created in 1867. In 1869, at the general assembly in Hünfeld, the decision was made to have the advance payment association entered in the cooperative register.

The advance payment association in Hünfeld started the new century with almost 900 members: for 1900, the annual report recorded exactly 892 comrades as well as savings of almost 450,000 marks and almost 50,000 shares. The number of members was over 1000 in 1892. The number of members fell due to the effect of the Raiffeisen-style loan offices that exist throughout the Hünfeld region. For the first time in 1918, the total assets of the Huenfeld advance club exceeded the million mark. When the First World War ended, the advance payment association had existed for 56 years and during this time it had developed from an association for the relief of emergencies to a permanent institution that permanently supports the medium-sized population in money and credit matters.

In 2015 the bank merged with Raiffeisenbank Haunetal eG, based in Haunetal (Bad Hersfeld District Court, GnR 128).

In 2016 the bank merged with Raiffeisenbank Langenschwarz eG, based in Langenschwarz .
