Valdó Szűcs (born June 29, 1995 ) is a Hungarian hurdler who specializes in the 110-meter distance .

Athletic career

Valdó Szűcs gained his first international experience in 2011 when he reached the semi-finals at the World Youth Championships near Lille and was eliminated there with 14.45 seconds. He was then disqualified in the preliminary round at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Trabzon . The following year he retired from the Junior World Championships in Barcelona with 14.32 s in the first round, as well as the 2013 Junior European Championships in Rieti with 14.07 s. In 2014 he reached the semi-finals at the Junior World Championships in Eugene , where he was eliminated with 13.93 s. In 2015 he took part in the 60-meter hurdles at the European Indoor Championships in Prague , but was eliminated there with 7.97 seconds. He then finished eighth at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn in 14.13 s and was eliminated from the preliminary round with the Hungarian 4 x 100 meter relay with 41.11 s.

In 2016 he qualified for the European Championships in Amsterdam , where he was eliminated in the semifinals with 13.76 s. In 2019 he reached the semifinals of the 60 meter hurdles at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow and was eliminated there with 7.75 seconds. He then finished eighth in 13.77 s at the Summer Universiade in Naples . He also qualified for the first time for the World Championships in Doha , where he was eliminated with 13.60 s in the preliminary round.

In 2019 and 2020 Szűcs became Hungarian champion in the 110-meter hurdles and in 2015 in the 4-by-100-meter relay. In the hall he secured the title over 60 m hurdles in 2019 and 2020.
