Valentina Olivia Violeta "Valle" Lizana Wallner , b. Lizana , (born March 30, 1990 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish ice hockey goalkeeper of Chilean origin. She played for many years in the highest Swedish women's ice hockey league , today's Svenska damhockeyligan , and for the Swedish national team . She has been working as a goalkeeper trainer since 2017.

Career

In the club

Wallner started her career in 1995 at the age of five in Trångsund at Trångsunds IF. In winter 2005 she moved from her hometown Trångsund to Stockholm, in the first team at AIK Solna . She made her debut for the AIK as part of the IIHF European Women Champions Cup . It was followed by four more years for the AIK in the Riksserien , before switching to league rivals MODO Hockey in 2010 . With MODO she won the Swedish championship in 2012 .

International

Wallner has been a member of the Swedish national ice hockey team since 2009 and made her debut at the 2009 Women's Ice Hockey World Championship in Finland . A year later Wallner was nominated for the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , but was not used. This was followed by further participation in the Women's World Championships in 2011, 2012 and 2013 .

In February 2014, she took part in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . At the tournament, as before, she wanted to play in friendly matches with the likeness of Stefan Liv , who died in 2011 . However, the International Olympic Committee forbade her to wear the helmet.

Private

Valentina Lizana was born as the daughter of Chilean immigrants in the Swedish metropolis Stockholm and grew up in the municipality of Huddinge in Trångsund . Between 2003 and 2007 she attended the school Solna in the same district of Stockholm, where she made in early 2008 its completion .

Lizana married the businessman Patrick Wallner on June 29, 2013 in Örnsköldsvik .
