Valetti (travesty artist)

Valetti (bourgeois Ralf Ottmers, born August 25, 1970 in Goslar ) is a German travesty artist who appears as a singer, presenter and actor and ran his own theaters in Berlin and Goslar.

Ralf Ottmers originally worked as an editor for a newspaper in Goslar, but also appeared as a stand-up comedian and organized regional events. When Jürgen Drews received the title of King of Mallorca , Ottmers organized a coronation ceremony in the historic imperial palace of Goslar . The television station SAT.1 reported on it. At this event, Ottmers met the music producer Thomas Sandmann , to whom he expressed his interest in a professional career as a stand-up comedian. Sandmann saw no chance for this in show business, but was pricked up at the presentation of a video showing an appearance by Ottmer in women's clothes. SAT.1 was also interested in the topic and accompanied the start into show business with regular reports in the tabloid magazine Blitz . The pseudonym Valetti pays homage to the German actress and cabaret artist Rosa Valetti (1878–1937).

Valetti became known as a party act with a cover version of the Irish folk song Whiskey in the Jar , presented for the first time in Hamburg's Valentinos together with Olivia Jones . As a result, Valetti was a regular guest on TV programs such as Quatsch Comedy Club , Das Perfekt Dinner , Vera am Mittag , and TV reports mainly on RTL and SAT.1 .

Due to the regular media presence and the opening of a cabaret theater in Goslar, Valetti became known as an independent, female figure. In 2008 Valetti applied to be the "Harz Queen". Valetti became "Lisbet, the resin queen" and in this role was an advertising figure for the Brocken-Stollen, a Christmas specialty from the Harz region . At the erotic fair Venus Berlin in 2008, Valetti hosted the show program. As the resin queen, Valetti recorded a second CD with the song Köhlerliesel .

In 2009 Valetti opened the “Valettis” theater on Alexanderplatz in Berlin. The drag queens Rita Calypso from the former Chez Nous and Larissa Tornado performed here regularly . However, a year later he closed the theater again.

From February 2014 to the end of 2017 Valetti was part of Olivia Jones' permanent ensemble in Hamburg and carried out the so-called “Kieztouren” every weekend.

After the debut on the “ Traumschiff ” Germany , Valetti appears as a show act on cruise ships, mainly on TUI Cruises' Mein Schiff fleet .

Valetti has been co-operating a café in Goslar since 2019 .
