Vanderson Válter de Almeida, better known as Vandinho (born January 15, 1978 in Cuiabá ; Mato Grosso ), is a Brazilian football player .

Career

After a less than successful episode at SC Internacional , the 1.83 m tall right-footed midfielder Vandinho played mostly with modest ambitions at clubs in his home country: Esporte Clube Pelotas , Guarani FC , Santa Cruz FC , Criciúma EC and Grêmio Esportivo Inhumense until he entered the season 2002/03 moved to Portugal for Rio Ave FC , where he helped the Vila do Conde team return to the Primeira Liga in their first season.

For the 2004/05 season, Vandinho joined the Sporting Clube from Braga ; he became a constant fixture in midfield. In February 2010, still an important figure in Braga midfield, he received a three-month suspension for his involvement in a scuffle in the 2-0 home win of his team, which led the table, against Benfica Lisbon last year and had to end the season early. his club was eventually overtaken in the table by the opponent from this game.

In the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League , Sporting reached the semi-finals, the opponent was again Benfica. Vandinho scored the header in the 2-1 defeat in the first leg in the state capital. After seven years at the club, he moved to the Saudi Arabian club al-Sharjah in 2012 . After two years with three Brazilian clubs, he was under contract with GE Anápolis in 2014 . After the season he ended his career.
