Vanja Belić (born June 28, 1983 in Zagreb , SR Croatia ) is a former Croatian ice hockey goalkeeper who played for various clubs from Zagreb.

Career

Vanja Belić began his career as an ice hockey player in the 2000/01 season at KHL Zagreb , for which he was active in the Croatian championship for the following five years. The goalkeeper then moved to his city neighbor KHL Mladost Zagreb , where he played in the Croatian championship and the Slovenian ice hockey league from 2005 to 2009 . In 2008 he became Croatian champion for the first time in his career with the KHL Mladost . For the 2009/10 season he moved to the Croatian record champions KHL Medveščak Zagreb , for whom he was on the ice four times in the Austrian ice hockey league . He also ran for the club's second team in the Slohokej League and the Croatian championship and won the Croatian championship again with the team.

In the 2010/11 season Belić played mainly for Medveščak's new cooperation partner, the Zagreb team , in the Slohokej League, while he won the Croatian championship title for the third time with Medveščak's second team. For the 2011/12 season he returned to KHL Zagreb, where he ended his career in 2012.

International

For Croatia, Belić took part in the junior division of the U18 World Cup in Division II in 2001 , the U20 World Cup in Division II in 2002 and the U20 World Cup in Division I in 2003 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division II in 2005 and 2007 , when he achieved the best catch rate and the lowest goals against goals of the tournament, and in the World Championships in Division I in 2003 , 2006 , 2008 , when he was named the best goalkeeper of the Tournament was chosen in 2009 and 2010 .
