The Vedeggio is a 29 km long river in the canton of Ticino . It flows through the Valle di Caneggio , the Val d'Isone and the wide Valle del Vedeggio and drains an area of around 100 km² in the south of the canton.

geography

The Vedeggio rises in two short source streams on the Camoghè ( 2228  m above sea level ) and initially flows west through the Valle di Caneggio . Shortly before Isone , the Serdena flows into the Vedeggio. From then on the valley is called Val d'Isone . At Camignolo he comes to the wider valley of the Leguana , which flows towards him. There the river turns south, accompanies the A2 motorway and the Gotthard Railway for around 15 km and finally flows into the western arm of Lake Lugano at Agno . Besides the Cassarate , it is the main tributary of the lake.

The southern part of the Vedeggio is canalised because of the structure of the Lugano-Agno airport .

It flows into the Lago di Lugano near Agno
