Malec has been taking part in competitions organized by the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 2006 . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , she finished 77th in the sprint. She ran her first World Cup race in December 2010 in Davos , which she finished classically with 63rd place over 10 km. She has been taking part in the Balkan Cup since 2009 . In March 2011 she won her first victory in the 5 km freestyle in Pale . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo , she reached 71st place in the sprint and 59th place over 10 km classic. In the 2012/13 season she came third and once in first place in the Balkan Cup and thus also took first place in the overall standings. Her best placement at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme was 58th place in the 15 km skiathlon. In the following season , she took third place twice in the Balkans and also reached third place in the overall standings. In January 2014 in Szklarska Poręba she achieved 38th place in the 10 km mass start race, her best individual World Cup result to date. Her best result at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi was 53rd place in the 10 km mass start race. In the 2014/15 season she took third place in the overall ranking of the Balkan Cup. She was second in Mavrovo over 5 km freestyle and third in Pale over 5 km freestyle. At the season highlight of the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun , she finished 51st in the 10 km freestyle and skiathlon. After placing 70 at the Nordic Opening in Ruka at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, she won six Balkan Cups and thus also won the overall ranking of the Balkan Cup. In the following season she won the Balkan Cup four times. In addition, she took second place three times and thus won the overall ranking again. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 2017 , she came 61st place over 10 km classic and 50th place in sprint. The following year she finished 71st in the 10 km freestyle and 64th in the sprint at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang .
In the 2018/19 season, Malec won the overall ranking of the Balkan Cup for the fourth time with seven wins. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , she ran on 64th place over 10 km classic, 59th place in sprint and 53rd place in skiathlon . In the following season she won the overall ranking of the Balkan Cup with five first and two second places.
