Veli Acar (born August 30, 1981 in Kelekçi, Acıpayam , Denizli Province ) is a former Turkish football player .

Career

Acar started his career in the fourth division at Denizli Belediyespor . In three years, Acar played 90 games and scored 20 goals. In the summer of 2005, the second division side Bursaspor signed him . He achieved immediate promotion to the Turkcell Süper Lig with Bursaspor , where he was also Turkish champion at the end of the 2009/10 season. For the 2010/11 season he moved to the promoted Konyaspor .

After just one season, he moved to Denizlispor . Here he was a regular player and captain of the team for two seasons.

For the 2013/14 season he was committed by the second division club Mersin İdman Yurdu . After just one season, Acar moved back to his previous club Denizlispor and signed for a year. In the summer of 2016 and 2017, his contract was extended for a further year.

After his contract ended, Acar announced his retirement in 2018. For the 2018/19 season he was introduced to Denizlispor as sports director .
