Droben , in Upper Sorbian Droby , is a village in the Saxon district of Bautzen . It belongs to Upper Lusatia and belonged to the Milkel community from 1936 to 1999 , from then to the Radibor community . The village is located in the official Sorbian settlement area and has 95 inhabitants.
geography
The place is between Milkel and Lomske a little off the state road 106, north of Bautzen . Lippitsch is located to the south . Above is part of the Upper Lusatian heath and pond area ; the only elevation is the Hahnenberg to the west.
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1350. Two atonement crosses have survived from the Middle Ages . From 1777 the place belonged to the Milkel manor . From April 1, 1936 to January 1, 1999 he was part of the Milkel community. Today it belongs to the Radibor municipality.
The scientist Arnošt Muka counted 128 inhabitants in Droben in 1884/85, of whom 124 were Sorbs .
