Venedictos Printesis ( Greek Βενέδικτος Πρίντεζης Venediktos Prindezis ; born February 10, 1917 in Manna, today a district of Ermoupolis , Greece ; † October 21, 2008 ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of the Archdiocese of Athens .

Life

Venedictos Printesis was ordained a priest on March 23, 1940 .

Pope John XXIII appointed him Archbishop of Athens in 1959. He received his episcopal consecration on June 21, 1959, the Archbishop of Naxos-Tinos Joannis Baptist Filippucci ; Co- consecrators were Georges Xenopulos SJ , Bishop of Syros (and Milos) , and Hyakinthos Gad , Apostolic Exarch of Greece . As Archbishop of Athens he was also administrator for the Archdiocese of Rhodes .

He was from 1959 to 1962 for the appointment of Antónios Varthalítis AA administrator of the Archdiocese of Corfu and from 1959 to 1969 administrator of the Apostolic Vicariate of Thessaloniki .

His resignation was in 1972 by Pope Paul VI. granted. Venedictos Printesis was a member of the Bishops' Conference of the Roman Catholic Church in Greece until his death .
