The Apostolic Vicariate of Thessaloniki ( Latin Apostolicus Vicariatus Thessalonicensis ) located in Greece was established on March 18, 1926 from the Apostolic Vicariate of Constantinople by the Breve In sublimi Principis of Pope Pius XI. justified.

While in 1950 the Apostolic Vicariate still had 2,500 Catholics in 2 parishes with 4 religious priests and 23 religious sisters , by 2002 it had grown to 4,000 Catholics in 8 parishes with 2 diocesan priests , 4 religious priests and 8 religious sisters.

With its 57,550 km² the Vicariate of Thessaloniki includes the regions of Central Macedonia , West Macedonia , East Macedonia and Thrace and Thessaly with churches in Volos , Kavala and Alexandroupoli . The cathedral in Thessaloniki is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception . The apostle Paul is the patron of the diocese . Like many dioceses in Greece, the Apostolic Vicariate of Thessaloniki has not had its own bishop for a long time, but is looked after by the Archbishop of Corfu as administrator .
