Venice of the North
As Venice of the North several cities are designated whose cityscape with bridges and waterways to the city of Venice recalls:

- Bruges
- Emden
- Friedrichstadt
- Giethoorn
- Hamburg
- Copenhagen
- Papenburg
- Saint Petersburg (just as freely dubbed the Venice of the East )
- Stockholm
- Stralsund
