Venus El-Kassem (born January 4, 1995 in Berlin ) is a German soccer player .
Career
society
The daughter of a German father and an Iraqi mother grew up in Berlin-Kreuzberg and came to play football through her three older brothers. Her mother then persuaded her to join a club and give it a try. So she joined Tennis Borussia Berlin and started playing with the juniors. In the summer of 2009, she then moved to 1. FC Union Berlin , where she played in the U-15 and later in the U-17 of the club. In the summer of 2010 she moved to the sports school "Friedrich Ludwig Jahn" and to the 1st FFC Turbine in Potsdam , where she first played for the B-Juniors and became German champion with them in 2010/11 . With the selection of Brandenburg, she was also victorious in 2010 at the U-17 state cup. From 2011 to 2013 she was part of the squad of Potsdam's second team, for which she played a total of twelve games and won the championship in the 2nd Bundesliga North in 2011/12 . For the 2013/14 season , El-Kassem signed a two-year contract with Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen. There she made her Bundesliga debut on September 15, 2013 in a 0-0 draw against BV Cloppenburg , when she came into the game for Isabelle Linden in the 81st minute .
After her contract in Leverkusen expired, she moved to Bundesliga promoted Werder Bremen in the summer of 2015, which she left for private reasons during the winter break.
National team
The striker made her debut against Italy for the German U-16 national team in May 2011 and scored her first goal in the national shirt in the 4-0 victory over Finland in the Nordic Cup that same year . In December 2010 she was active for the U-17 national team for the first time and in 2012 she was part of the 18-strong German squad that won the U-17 European Championship in Nyon . She was also in the German squad at the U-17 World Cup in Azerbaijan in the same year and was used in the first two preliminary round matches. On April 5, 2014 El-Kassem made her debut for the German U-19 national team as part of the European Championship qualification .
