Verena Brunschweiger

Verena Brunschweiger (* 1980 in Passau as Verena Eleonore Maier-Eroms ) is a German publicist and anti-natalist .

Life

Brunschweiger studied German , English and philosophy . She received her doctorate in German Medieval Studies at the University of Regensburg in 2007 with a thesis on "Heroism" and "Femininity" in the Middle Ages and in modern times: using the examples of Wolframs Parzival , Gottfried's Tristan and Richard Wagner's musical dramas . Until the end of 2019 she worked as a high school teacher in Regensburg.

In 2013 she published her first non-fiction book Fuck Porn against the spread of pornography in everyday life. At the beginning of 2019, her book Kinderfrei instead of childless made her internationally known. It reached number 40 on the Spiegel bestseller list paperback non-fiction books and sparked a debate, especially in German-speaking countries, about the connection between climate change and reproduction claimed by Brunschweiger .
