Verena Moritz (* 1969 in Eisenstadt ) is an Austrian historian .

Life

Moritz studied history and Russian at the University of Vienna , spent several research stays in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and in 2001 he worked with Gerhard Jagschitz at the Institute for Contemporary History with a dissertation between all fronts. The Russian prisoners of war in Austria in the field of tension between benefit and threat (1914–1921) to the Dr. phil. PhD.

She is a lecturer at the Universities of Vienna and Salzburg and head of various scientific research projects, including those on prisoners of war in the Habsburg Monarchy 1914–1918. She is also a member of the Austro-Russian Historical Commission and the Advisory Board of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Research on the Consequences of War in Graz-Vienna-Raabs. Her research focuses on Austrian and Russian history ; she published numerous books on this. Moritz lives in Vienna .
