Vermin Love Supreme (* 3. June 1961 in Rockport , Massachusetts ) is an American performance artist and activist for anarchism . He received special media attention through his candidacies in primary elections in the course of several presidential elections .

Life

Only vague information is known about Vermin Supreme's private life, as he refuses to provide information or provides contradicting information if possible. He grew up with two younger siblings near Boston . He went to Gloucester High School in Gloucester , Massachusetts. Then he moved to Baltimore to take up an art school , however, to visit his thereat study broke off and began to work in the underground club scene. During this time he began to develop the fictional character "Vermin Supreme". In 1986 he took part in the Great Peace March for Global Nuclear Disarmament .

In 1988 he was elected mayor in each of Baltimore, Detroit and Mercury , Nevada . In the 1990s he officially changed his name to "Vermin Love Supreme".

In 2004, Supreme ran as a candidate in the Washington, DC primaries in the course of the upcoming presidential election . In the 2008 presidential election , he took part in the Republican primary . Four years later, he finished third in New Hampshire's January 2012 Democratic primary with 833 (1.4%) votes, with the winner, then President Barack Obama , receiving 49,080 votes. In 2016 he ran again in the Democratic primary for president in New Hampshire.

Supreme was involved in the script of the 2009 documentary Vote Jesus: The Chronicles of Ken Stevenson and also played the lead role of Ken Stevenson in the documentary . In 2013 he presented the documentation Vote Jesus on the Liberty Forum of the Free State Project .

Supreme residence is Baltimore. He is married and has no children.
