In the administrative community Goldene Aue from the Saxony-Anhalt district of Mansfeld-Südharz , the administrative community Helme and the administrative community "Kyffhäuser" Berga-Kelbra-Tilleda joined forces on January 1, 2004 to handle their administrative business. It was between the towns of Kelbra (Kyffhäuser) and Artern . The seat of the administrative community was Kelbra. 10,979 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​127.25 km² (as of December 31, 2006).

The originally nine member congregations were reduced to eight on January 1st, 2009, when the congregations Brücken (Helme) and Hackpfüffel merged to become Brücken-Hackpfüffel. Since July 1, 2009 there have been only five municipalities: The previously independent municipality of Tilleda (Kyffhäuser) was incorporated into Kelbra (Kyffhäuser) and the municipalities of Martinsrieth and Riethnordhausen were incorporated into Wallhausen.

On January 1, 2010, the administrative community was set up, its member communities formed the newly founded association community Goldene Aue . The last head of the administrative community was Ernst Hofmann.
