Administrative community north Harz
In the administrative community of North Harz in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt , nine municipalities had come together to handle their administrative business. The administrative community had its seat in Veckenstedt. 11,632 inhabitants lived in an area of 138.41 km² (as of December 31, 2008). The last administrative manager was Hannelore Striewski.
On January 1, 2010, Derenburg closed the town of Blankenburg (Harz) on, Reddeber came to Wernigerode and the other municipalities merged with Danstedt from the HARZVORLAND-HUY for unified community Nordharz .
