Vesa Luma (born May 12, 1986 in Pristina , SFR Yugoslavia , today Kosovo ) is a Kosovar pop singer, songwriter and journalist .

Life

Vesa Luma was born on May 12, 1986 in the Kosovar capital into an intellectual family. She inherited her talent for singing from her mother. At the age of five, Luma appeared in the children's show Akordet e Kosovës together with the children's group Xixëllonjat .

Luma went to a musical elementary school where she learned to play the flute. Then she continued in the music middle school Prenk Jakova in her hometown with a focus on solo singing. Then Luma decided to change course; she went to study communication, mass media and journalism at the AAB University in Pristina. During her studies, she also worked for a total of seven years as a television journalist for the Kosovo public broadcaster, Radio Televizioni i Kosovës . After her journalism career, Luma returned to the music business. She took part in competitions in her home country and in neighboring Albania . The most important and well-known include Ethet e së Premtes Mbrëma on Radio Televizioni Shqiptar , Kënga Magjike on TV Klan and Top Fest on Top Channel .

Luma takes part in almost every benefit event in Kosovo. That is why she was awarded Ambasadore e Vullnetit të Mirë (“Ambassador of Good Will”) by the Kosovar Ministry of Culture .

In 2006 the single Jemi Dhe S'jemi was released ; a dance pop song with many Albanian folkloric features. The song was not only a huge success in the Albanian-speaking areas, but also in other south-east European countries, including Bulgaria , where a singer published a plagiarism of the song a little later.

In 2008 Të Kam Dashur Shumë was released : an album with a total of eight titles, including the successful single Luaj .

In 2010 Amanet was released: another dance single that is one of her greatest successes. In early 2011 she also took part in the Albanian version of Dancing with the Stars on the private broadcaster Vizion Plus .

In July 2013, she announced that she was dating the Albanian rapper Big Basta . With him she released the summer hit Nuk do flejmë . The video was shot in Saranda .
