Viktor Piisang (born July 10, 1918 in Rapla , Republic of Estonia , † September 24, 1944 in Kohila , Estonian SSR ) was an Estonian football player . His brother Eugen Piisang (1917-2003) was an Estonian sports journalist .

Career

Viktor Piisang attended a primary school in Tallinn when he was a child . Later he studied in the city at the Technical University . In addition to soccer, Piisang played basketball and volleyball . He later worked in the NMKÜ furniture factory. He completed his football career with JS Estonia Tallinn, with whom he became Estonian champions in 1938 and 1939 . From 1938 to 1940 Piisang completed 9 international matches for the Estonian national team . In June 1939 he completed a game against Germany in the Kadrioru stadium in Tallinn.

death

After the Soviet Union annexed Estonia in 1940 during World War II , Piisang was drafted into the Red Army in 1941. He fought there alongside his teammates from the Estonian national team Heinrich Uukkivi and Richard Kuremaa . He was wounded during the Battle of Velikiye Luki on the Baltic Front . He died in September 1944.
