Villa Zillerstraße 5

description

Zillerstraße 5, architectural drawing from 1878

The designed "in the style of an Italian villa" as Gruppenbau, today together with the enclosure under monument protection standing villa consists of three structures in the form of a two-storey main building on the garden side of the property and faces south, a two-story annex on the north side and a connecting building. This type of group building is thus similar to the villas that were built at the same time in the former Sophienstrasse, such as Haus Rudell or the Sophienhof (only without a tower) or the much larger, earlier Villa Hoflößnitzstrasse 6 .

The main building shows four window axes in the street view, the side view is two window axes wide. On top there is a flat and flattened hipped roof with a large eaves overhang . The annex on the north side has a slightly lower eaves and ridge height , despite also having two floors . It shows a double window on each floor facing the street. The connecting building is open on the ground floor and is adorned by two pilasters outside and two columns further inside. A flight of stairs leads to the entrance. The loggia on the upper floor, which is now closed , originally looked exactly like the entrance below.

The facades of plaster construction are simply broken down, the windows are original console decorated by, robe edged, on top with straight Sandstone Verdachungen. In the walls there are sun protection slats, which are covered by metal, colored painted saddle pads.

The enclosure consists of lancet fence fields between sandstone pillars.

history

The audit certificate of the competent authorities for this villa of the Serkowitz master builder Gebrüder Ziller dates back to January 1878. In 1895 a commercial extension was made on the back of the annex, which was planned by the Dresden architects Schilling & Graebner . Another extension for a staircase was built in 1931 on the back of the main building by the architect Johannes Eisold .

According to the address book from 1933 to at least 1934, the painter Alexander Kircher lived at Zillerstraße 5.
