Vincent "Vince" Rocco (born June 26, 1987 in Woodbridge , Ontario ) is an Italian - Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with IF Troja-Ljungby in the second-rate Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan since 2013 .

Career

Vince Rocco began his career as a hockey player with the Vaughan Vipers, for which he was active from 2003 to 2005 in the Ontario Junior Hockey League . He then attended Niagara University for four years , for whose ice hockey team he played parallel in College Hockey America . With his team he won the CHA championship in 2008. He himself was elected to the CHA's first All-Star Team. A year later he was elected to the second All-Star Team of the College Conference. Towards the end of the 2008/09 season , the winger made his professional ice hockey debut for the Reading Royals from the ECHL , for whom he scored four goals and five assists in nine games. For the 2009/10 season he was signed by HC Alleghe , for which he played four seasons in the Italian Serie A1 . He then moved to HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish league, to IF Troja-Ljungby .

International

For Italy , Rocco first took part in the A World Cup in 2012 , but could not prevent relegation to Division I. In the following year , however, the Italians managed to immediately rise again, to the Rocco with two goals, the 3-1 in a 5-1 win against the later relegated Great Britain and the 1-0 opening goal in the 2-1 victory against which was decisive for the promotion Host Hungary , contributed. He also took part in the Olympic qualification for the Games in Sochi in 2014, but his three goals couldn't prevent the Italians from being eliminated.
