Vincenz Paravicini (* 1595 in Caspano ; † December 20, 1678 in Chur ) was a Swiss Reformed clergyman .

Life

Vincenz Paravicini was born in Caspano in 1595 as the son of Johannes Bartholomäus Paravicini di Gotardini and his wife Elisabeta Paravicini della Dona. In 1610 he began to study theology for five years at the University of Zurich , 1616/1617 at the University of Basel and from 1617 to 1619 at the University of Geneva . On July 24, 1619, the Evangelical-Rhaetian Synod accepted him . This allowed him to work as a pastor in the Free State of the Three Leagues , but the Veltliner murder in 1620 initially prevented this. In the same year he was appointed pastor for Veltliner refugees in St. Gallen and remained active there for five years. From 1625 Paravicini was unemployed. After seven years he was assigned the parish in Castasegna , where he was also a notary . In addition, he was employed in Bondo GR as a provisional pastor from 1648, which he should remain until 1653. A year later he was hired as a teacher at the Collegium philosophicum in Chur . As early as 1657 - he had only taught for three years - he was promoted to rector. He held the office until his death on December 20, 1678.
