Vincenzo Maria Morelli
Vincenzo Maria Morelli CRth (born April 25, 1741 in Lecce , Italy , † August 22, 1812 in Sternatia ) was an Italian religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Otranto .
Life
Vincenzo Maria Morelli joined the order of the Theatines and received the sacrament of priestly ordination on June 16, 1764 .
On December 16, 1791, he was appointed Archbishop of Otranto. Pope Pius VI confirmed the appointment on February 7 of the following year. The episcopal ordination received his Cardinal Luigi Valenti Gonzaga on March 4, 1792. co-consecrators were the apostolic nuncio in the Grand Duchy of Tuscany , Archbishop Carlo Crivelli and Curia Archbishop Ottavio bonuses . The inauguration in the Archdiocese of Otranto took place on May 24, 1792.
In the beatification process initiated for him, Pope Francis awarded him the heroic degree of virtue on December 11, 2019 .
