Vivien Schneider (* 15. August 1972 in Bad Saarow than Vivien Kussatz ) is a German sailor . She starts for the Spandauer Yacht Club in Berlin.

Life

Vivien Schneider began her sailing career at the age of 14 in the two-man youth boat Cadet on the local Scharmützelsee . A year later she was delegated to the Berlin-Grünau sports school . First she sailed in the 420 , two years later in the 470 dinghy . In 2002 she was fourth at the European Championships in Tallinn and ninth at the World Championships in Cagliari . In 2003 she won the Kieler Woche , in 2005 she was third.

Since 2006 she has started as a crew member with Stefanie Rothweiler . In 2006 both were tenth at the World Championships in Rizhao , in 2007 in Cascais 14th and in 2008 in Melbourne 13th. In 2005 they were ninth at the European Championships in Gdynia . The team won gold medals at the 2006 European Championships in Balatonfüred and 2007 in Thessaloniki . At the pre-Olympic races in Qingdao , the pair finished third in 2006 and fifth in 2007. At the 2008 Summer Olympics , they finished 9th. In 2008 Vivien Schneider announced that she was ending her Olympic career.

Schneider is a lawyer in professional life. She is married to Stefan Schneider and lives with her two children in Bad Saarow .
