Career

Band career

At the age of twelve Ilievski began to learn to play guitar and to sing in local bands in Skopje. In 2000, the Macedonian rock band Moral (other name variations: Morality, Морал) Ilievski made an offer to join, which he accepted. Between 2001 and 2003, the group recorded various songs and an album called Koga Patuvam . The band achieved fame primarily through their appearance as the opening act for Deep Purple at a concert in Skopje in 2005.

Solo career

In 2007, Ilievski began advancing his solo career by releasing a number of different tracks and performing at various Macedonian music festivals.

In the Macedonian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, he reached the final over two qualifying rounds, the Skopje Fest 2010 on February 20th. In the preliminary decision, half the judgment of a neutral jury and the result of a televoting were taken into account. After calculating the number of points, Ilievski was tied with candidate Gjoko Taneski . In this case, the rules of the competition stipulated that the candidate with the higher jury vote wins. This was Taneski, who started for Macedonia in the semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo .

A year later, however, Ilievski was able to prevail with the song Rusinka at the Skopje Fest 2011 with the same voting mode against 19 competitors and therefore reached the second semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest in the Düsseldorf ESPRIT arena on May 12, 2011 for Macedonia . There the title could not qualify for the final.

Late in the evening of July 6, 2018, Ilievski was found dead in his car in Skopje.
