Vockerode is a district of the municipality of Meißner in the Werra-Meißner district in northern Hesse .

Vockerode lies at the foot of the Hohe Meißner . In the village meet state roads 3241 and the 3334th

history

A Good named Vockenrode was mentioned in the year 1074th It was not until the end of the 14th century that the village belonged to the Hessian landgraves. There used to be mining in Vockenrode. Various tunnels and a dump are a reminder of this .

On December 31, 1971, as part of the regional reform in Hesse, the previously independent communities of Abterode, Alberode, Germerode, Vockerode, Weidenhausen and Wellingerode merged to form the new large community of Meißner.
