Volker Hucklenbroich

Volker Hucklenbroich (born February 10, 1925 in Soest ; † February 12, 2004 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer and Berlin politician ( FDP ).

Life

After attending secondary school in Berlin-Oberschöneweide and serving in the war from 1943 to 1945, he studied law at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Berlin. In 1948 he was named as a student representative in the disciplinary committee of the Law Faculty of the University of Berlin.

In 1946 he became a member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDP) in the Soviet zone of occupation . A year later he was elected youth representative on the LDP board. He was a founding member of the Berlin LDP regional association. In 1950 he was elected to the Berlin FDP state executive for the first time. From 1954 he was deputy state chairman of the Berlin FDP for 18 years.

From 1950 to 1958 and from 1975 to 1981 he was a member of the FDP parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives . In the Schöneberg district he was city councilor for finances from 1965 to 1975, and from 1971 he was also active in business.

In 1975 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st Class , for his services . The State of Berlin honored him on May 30, 1994 with the title of City Elder of Berlin . After his death he was buried in the Onkel-Tom-Straße cemetery in Berlin-Zehlendorf .
