Volker Precelt

Volker Präkelt (born May 14, 1956 in Recklinghausen ) is a German author and director .

Life

After graduating from high school in his hometown, Volker Präkelt studied journalism at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster until 1982 , after which he worked as a jazz piano teacher and played in various bands. Precelt moved to Berlin and after an internship and a traineeship he became music editor at SFB 2 , where he moderated the broadcast ARD-Rocknacht . In 1990 he came to Hamburg, where he initially worked as a freelancer for Norddeutscher Rundfunk , before becoming editor-in-chief of the Canale Grande media magazine , which was awarded the Grimme Prize in 1994 . Subsequently, he was program director of the music channel VH-1 Germany and in the Milchstrasse publishing group .

From 2003, Präkelt had great success with the television format Marvi Hämmer , which he developed, with the 3D animated rat of the same name as the presenter of a knowledge series for children. In addition to the 104 episodes in total, Präkelt created 75 stories as audio books . For the non-fiction series BAFF! He has written various titles for the Arena Verlag , and the NDR produced three radio plays Prekelts.

Today, Volker Präkelt works as a freelance writer and director for, among other things, the culture journal and the adventure diagnosis series , two broadcast formats of the NDR, and is the managing director of the Mediendeck oHG, a production company for TV, music and audio book productions in Hamburg.
