German children's radio play award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Children's Radio Play Prize emerged from the terre des hommes Children's Radio Play Prize , which the children's development aid organization had awarded since 1985. When in 1994 the prestigious award threatened to be discontinued due to financial difficulties, the Filmstiftung NRW and the city of Wuppertal continued the award under a new name. Today the Filmstiftung NRW and the ARD are equal bearers of the award, supported by the city of Wuppertal. The German Children's Radio Play Prize has been awarded annually since 2006 as part of the ARD Radio Play Days and is endowed with 5000 euros (as of 2019). At the same time, a children's jury awards the city of Karlsruhe 's children's radio play prize .
