Maja Nielsen
Maja Nielsen (born March 25, 1964 in Hamburg ) is the author of the audio and non-fiction series Adventure, Maja Nielsen tells .
Life
Maja Nielsen completed her acting studies at the University of Music and Theater , Hamburg . She later took on theater engagements in Hamburg, Munich , Stuttgart , Tübingen and Kassel . She got into writing adventure stories through her two sons. In 1998 Maja Nielsen began working as a radio author and published her first children's books. Her stories and radio plays first appeared on children's radio ( HR , WDR , BR , MDR ).
Since 2006 Maja Nielsen has been concentrating on the children's non-fiction series “Adventure! Maja Nielsen tells ”( Gerstenberg Verlag , Hildesheim), which now comprises 22 volumes (status 02/2014). A secret of her success: Maja Nielsen takes children and their questions seriously. Another ingredient of her recipe for success is the close contact between the author and her audience. Over 150 readings per year are impressive proof of this. Maja Nielsen is a welcome guest at all major literary festivals such as LitCologne, the Munich Book Show or the Seiteneinsteiger Festival. In 2013, the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels named Maja Nielsen “Reading Artist of the Year 2013”.
Maja Nielsen has two sons and lives in Rosbach vd Höhe .
Works
Maja Nielsen puts her readers right in the middle of the topics she deals with. Embedded in excitingly told reports, she uses “knowledge boxes” in her non-fiction book series “Adventure! Maja Nielsen tells "precisely researched information" as it were to her readers. The author acts as a bridge between her audience and present-day and historical people who accompany the respective knowledge adventure as experts. The range of topics on offer is wide, ranging from “Soccer Heroes” and “ Columbus ” to “ Marie Curie ” and “ Charles Darwin ” to “ Genghis Khan ” and “ Cosmonauts ”.
With its innovative concept, it not only convinced readers of all ages, but also the specialist audience. Maja Nielsen received a nomination for the German Youth Literature Prize and numerous awards, including the 2008 Children's and Youth Non-fiction Prize from the Association for Reading Promotion for the non-fiction series “Adventure! Maja Nielsen tells ”.
Numerous volumes in the “Adventure! Maja Nielsen tells “are also available as an audio book. For this purpose, the Auditorix audio book seal of the Initiative Hören eV was awarded several times - most recently in October 2013 for “Columbus - seafarers, explorers, adventurers”. For the audio book edition of “ Wikinger . In July 2013 Maja Nielsen received the “CD of the Month” award from the Listening Foundation .
In addition to the award-winning non-fiction and audio book series “Adventure! Maja Nielsen tells ”, Maja Nielsen has written several novels for young people about the“ Adventure Team ”. In 2013, " Feldpost für Pauline" was published, a novel aimed at a reading public from the age of 12 and set during the First World War . For the audio book of the same name published in 2009, the Filmstiftung NRW and the city of Wuppertal awarded Maja Nielsen the German Children's Radio Play Prize . In 2014 the novel was published as a theatrical version and premiered on December 20, 2014 at the Studiobühne Bayreuth under the direction of Marieluise Müller.
