history
The history of Volksbank Vechelde-Wendeburg began in 1901. Volksbank Vechelde was initially based in Klein Gleidingen . The first merger took place in 1946 with the takeover of the savings and loan fund Wedtlenstedt . Later the takeover of Volksbank Bettmar as well as the savings and loan funds in Vechelade , Vallstedt , Geitelde and Sauingen followed .
Initially, an agricultural trading cooperative was founded in Wendeburg. From this a savings and loan association developed, which later became a Volksbank. In 1940 the savings and loan bank Sophiental and in 1941 the commercial and Landesbank Wendeburg were taken over. In 2001 the Volksbanken Vechelde, Wendeburg and Bortfeld merged to form Volksbank Vechelde-Wendeburg.
In 2016 the bank merged with the Volksbanken Wolfenbüttel-Salzgitter and Helmstedt to form Volksbank eG, Wolfenbüttel .
