Volpiano Volpi (also Ulpiano Volpi ; * 1559 in Como , † March 10, 1629 in Rome ) was an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman, Archbishop of Chieti and Bishop of Novara .

Life

He was named Archbishop of Chieti on March 11, 1609. He received his episcopal consecration on April 5th of the same year Cardinal Michelangelo Tonti , Bishop of Cesena ; Co-consecrators were Archbishop Domenico Rivarola and Alessandro Borghi , former Bishop of Sansepolcro . On December 16, 1615 Volpiano Volpi renounced the Archdiocese of Chieti. Pope Paul V appointed him Bishop of Novara on November 12, 1619 with the personal title of Archbishop . On July 24, 1621, Volpiano Volpi was appointed Apostolic Datar . He took possession of the Diocese of Novara through a deputy on June 2, 1620, but never resided there. In his place, his nephew Giovanni Pietro Volpi , titular bishop of Salona , headed the diocese and succeeded him as diocesan bishop after Volpiano Volpi's death.
