The Vordere Maurerkeeskopf ( 3325 m above sea level ) is a mountain peak of the Tauern main ridge in the Venediger Group on the state border between Tyrol ( Lienz district ) and Salzburg ( Zell am See district ) or on the municipality border between Prägraten am Großvenediger and Neukirchen am Großvenediger . Theodor Harpprecht and J. Schnell made the first ascent on August 24, 1868 via the south-west climb .
location
The Vordere Maurerkeeskopf lies between the Eastern Simonyspitze ( 3442 m above sea level ) in the southwest and the Middle Maurerkeeskopf ( 3283 m above sea level ) or its southwestern summit ( 3215 m above sea level ) in the northwest, with the Vordere Maurerkeeskopf from the eastern Simonyspitze is separated by the Krimmlerkeesscharte ( 3300 m above sea level ). The Vordere Maurerkeeskopf is the southernmost and highest summit on the Maurerkeeskopfgrat, which, in addition to the Vorderen and Middle, also includes the Hinteren Keeskopf ( 3311 m above sea level ). The Maurerkees stretches east of the Vorderen Maurerkeeskopf, and the Krimmler Kees to the west.
Promotion opportunities
The Vordere Maurerkeeskopf is considered a little-visited single destination with dangerous entrances. The technically easiest route up the mountain is the ascent from the mostly overgrown Krimmlerkeesscharte, which can be reached from the Essener-Rostocker Hut in the southeast or the Warnsdorfer Hut in the north . From the Krimmlerkeesscharte the ascent takes place over short rock steps to the northeast ( I ). Most of the time, however, the Vordere Maurerkeeskopf is climbed in the course of the transition over the Maurerkeeskopfgrat from the Middle Maurerkeeskopf ( II ).
