Vrasselt is a district of the North Rhine-Westphalian city ​​of Emmerich am Rhein .

history

In 1371 there was a chapel dedicated to St. Anthony the Elder. E. and Quirinus, which belonged to the parish of St. Aldegundis Emmerich. It was not until 1890 that the parish of Vrasselt was separated, which is now part of the Emmerich parish of St. Christophorus / St. John the Baptist is incorporated.

Since the 19th century five municipalities formed a rural community in the mayoralty Vrasselt (since 1928 Office Vrasselt ) in the district Rees in the administrative district of Dusseldorf : bees (today Rees), Grietherbusch (today Rees), Dornick (today Emmerich), Praest ( today to Emmerich), Vrasselt (today to Emmerich).

On July 1, 1969, the office of Vrasselt was dissolved and the five municipalities incorporated into the cities of Emmerich or Rees by the law on the reorganization of municipalities in the district of Rees .

Even after 1945 there was still a large electorate for the center . Eligible voters in the municipal elections of 1952 were 2,096 people in the Vrasselt office. 760 votes fell on the CDU , 702 votes on the center.

There are old and new brickworks on Reeser Straße .

At the intersection of Hauptstrasse / Rheinstrasse there is a former, dilapidated restaurant .
