Dörnick is a municipality in the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein . The community is located in Holstein Switzerland and consists of the two districts Karpe and Dörnick. Nine tenths of the community are protected landscape areas .

Geography and traffic

Dörnick is located on the federal highway 430 about 3 km west of Plön . The community is framed by the Schwentine and the Karper Beek .

history

Until 1974 the classic village school existed in Dörnick with four grades in one classroom, all of which were taught by a teacher. The last village teacher in Dörnick was Gustav Danker.

Since the local elections in 2018, the newly founded voter association ABD has 5 seats in the local council. The AWD is represented with 4 seats

The crossed stylized horse heads can still be seen on the former cattle stable (today's house) and the old horse stable of the Hohelieth equestrian center.

There are no shops in Dörnick, only a few smaller businesses such as B. an electrician, a real estate agent, a management consultancy, two carpenters, a carpentry and a riding and horse farm.

Personalities

  • Gertrud von Brockdorff (1893–1961)
  • Heinrich Harms (1861–1933) lived as a village teacher in the community for over 20 years. The Dörnicker village school was named after him. The building still exists and is now used privately, but still bears the inscription "Heinrich Harms School" on the facade.
  • Gustav Danker (1914–2020) was a village teacher for over 30 years, until the school closed in 1974. At over 105 years of age, the oldest citizen.
