history

1341 Kalübbe is first mentioned in a document as Karlybbe . The name probably means hollow spruce trunk or bark peeling place and comes from Old High German. A Bronze Age burial mound and other finds from the Paleolithic indicate a long history of settlement in the area of ​​the municipality. In Kalübbe there was a stop on the Neumünster – Ascheberg line .
