history
The church was first mentioned in 1240. At its core, it is now a baroque hall built between 1699 and 1700 including the north wall of the Romanesque predecessor building on the orders of the Danish King Christian V. The first version of the painting in acanthus ornamentation based on the model of the Rendsburg Christ Church was renewed in rocaille shapes in 1758 under the Rixdorf church patron, Reich Count Wulf Hinrich von Baudissin . After they had been plastered over in 1830, the Rococo version was exposed and restored in 1986–1988.
The exterior was redesigned in neo-Gothic forms in 1873–1874 by the Kiel architect Heinrich Moldenschardt . At the same time, the striking west tower was added, replacing an earlier wooden bell tower.
Good Rixdorf
Rixdorf is located in a valley on the Kossau, a small river. The manor house, a late Baroque brick building, was originally surrounded by a moat, which is now filled. The 99 m long gatehouse of the estate is remarkable. Between 1745 and 1748 a rococo garden was laid out around the manor house, but not much of it has survived.
The estate was mentioned in 1424 as belonging to the knight of Riclikesdorp. The listed thatched roof buildings on the estate have largely been preserved in their original state. Today the property is used for agriculture.
