Location of the municipality of Passade in the district of Plön

Passade is a municipality on the Passader See in the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein .

The fact that the Passade is part of the Kiel area has so far hardly left any traces in the townscape. The location and structure of the village were honored in 2003 with 1st prize in the Schleswig-Holstein competition Our village should be more beautiful . The corresponding award at federal level followed in 2004.

history

Passade was evidently mentioned for the first time in 1373, but goes back to a much older Wendensiedlung . The Wendensiedlung Potzade or Putzade , which means "village on the lake", is the forerunner of today's place Passade am Passader See. Christian settlement began here in the 12th century, and in the 13th century Passade was subordinated to the monastery provost in Preetz . From around 1250 the Passad farmers are no longer serfs. The good soil and the low lease lead to prosperity. The population remains low. In the middle of the 20th century it was only about half as big as it is today.

Passade, located in the fertile provost , is still dominated by agriculture. There are five full-time farms, including an organic farm with a bakery (Passader Backhaus) and a dairy farm.
